Not every day the designer of your childhood compliments your work then asks you to be part of his upcoming project!
Yeah… a message of appreciation from John freakin’ Romero followed up by an offer to work with him on his new episode of Doom!
The new episode, entitled “SIGIL“, is going to have nine maps, and will be the fifth “official” episode. Romero has released a couple of new maps for the original game in previous years, including “E1M8B” and “E1M4B“.
In our Facebook conversation, I helped him choose some tracks of mine for maps in SIGIL, and he also asked for music for the title screen and the intermission screen. So I composed new tracks for him that evening (he was on a tight deadline) and sent it off. He liked it.
So… it looks like I’m part of SIGIL, Doom’s fifth episode.
