I’m extremely happy to unveil a brand new look for the website!

Good friend and fellow Doom fanatic Joshua “Dragonfly” O’Sullivan did a huge chunk of work in getting the new look up and running. We sat down together and went over everything in great detail over the course of about a week, rehashing the website’s looks, content, and navigation, making sure it looked great and performed optimally.

This included:

  • Installing the Divi theme-builder and converting every page to a Divi layout, for a modern, sleeker look
  • Rethinking key elements of the website such as the navigation bar, header and footer, and sidebar (now exclusive for blog posts)
  • Outright removing content that was effectively redundant, such as pages listing content that was already concisely laid out on other pages or websites
  • Designing new graphics for all pages that required them
  • Extensively using CSS and HTML to ensure a cohesive, readable appearance across the site
  • Cleaning things up on the administrative side, such as removing unneeded plugins
  • Installing Google Analytics to get a visual on traffic, reCAPTCHA for security, and Yoast for SEO purposes
  • Migrating all downloads to the jamespaddockmusic domain, minimising the potential for dead links, also enabling us to track download counts

The assistance and advice Josh provided through all of this was invaluable, and the work he did was top-notch. If you want to know what he gets up to, check out his website at Dragonfly’s Doomworks!
